Kishoan is a traditional Japanese inn surrounded by the earth, water and breezes of Nagano, where one can enjoy the peacefulness of the four seasons in a myriad of different ways. At Kishoan, one can follow one's heart, enjoying the pleasures of Nagano-ken in any way one wishes. Within the unique atmosphere of this inn, surrounded by earthen walls and trees, there are an endless number of ways to enjoy oneself, pleasures which include baths, which reflect the senses and whims of the seasons.

All guest rooms are in Japanese manner and equipped with a bathroom and a toilet room. We have 10 mat and 12.5 mat rooms. Five rooms are equipped with Tuginoma (antechamber) of six or eight mats. All rooms have a mountain view. It is located in the mountain. We recommend guests choose a plan with breakfast and dinner. The dinner is served as a full course from an appetizer to a dessert. Dishes are slightly changed on every month and feature the sense of the seasons.

It takes 25 minutes by car or shuttle bus from Shinshu Matsumoto Airport to the Matsumoto Bus Terminal in the city centre, just a five minutes walk to the hotel.

Matsumoto Castle (Matsumoto-jo) is one of the most complete and beautiful among Japan's original castles. The castle is a 5-minute bus ride or 10-15 minute walk from the JR Matsumoto Station. The city is also a good base for trips into the Japanese Alps. Self service laundry machine is available for the staying guests.
